As I read this article I got very excited. I'm a big fan of Email Service Providers (ESPs); it just always seems like there are issues when I try to work with a client that uses an in-house system. But maybe that's all changing. The WSJ reports that these new software programs integrate with existing databases and provide basic Web analytics -- and there's a review of 5 of these new wonders. If you're in the market for an in-house solution (or having issues with your ESP), this article is worth reading!

He discusses email content by name here and there, but just about everything he says applies to email, Websites and any other online presence. Best of all -- it's free.
