Email Marketing as a Relationship Strategy: The Four Steps to High Impact Email Marketing

Peppers & Rogers Group with RightNow
Technologies, October 2004
This 12-page PDF takes a high-level view of e-mail
marketing and its role in the customer relationship
management process. It's a great way to 'grow' your
vision of what e-mail marketing can do for your
organization. The report also has tons of data points,
things like e-mail advertising spending over the past
few years (estimated to be $300 million in 2005).
It also has some basics, including a brief review of
CAN-SPAM requirements, a glossary of terms and a
list of additional resources for e-mail marketers.
Worth a read.

David Daniels, ClickZ.com, October 11, 2004
I love this article from the 'Smarter Marketing'
category. David reports that just 22% of companies
surveryed are using clickstream data to improve their
targetting and segmentation. If you're not one of
them, this is a great way to get up to speed.

Sender ID Framework at a Glance

Microsoft, September 30, 2004
Sender ID is moving forward, despite some reports of
its demise. This brief provides an overview of what
it is and how it will counter spoofing -- and help
control the phishing epidemic.
There are also links to a section for IT professionals,
as well as link to some consumer safeguards. A good
read for anyone who wants to better understand
Sender ID, especially those who are sending their
own e-mail and will need to take action to comply.
